A Vaishnava is not only a person who is born in a religious family nor the one who is a worshipper of Lord vishnu. True Vaishnavas are those who live in this world for the purpose of 'Dharma' which indeed is the service to the Lord and constantly propogating Holy names of the Supreme Lord.
Qualifications of a Vaishnava are mentioned By Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in the 3rd verse of the holy instructions "Shikshashtakam" - 'trinadapi sunichen, tarorapi sahishnunam, amanina manden, Kirtaniya sada Hari !
